how did those teens get in that bar?

I saw New Moon on Sunday. It was fantastic! Yes, I really enjoyed it and it had me wanting more. And at this very moment, I'm having a discussion with the Wendy about some misgivings I have about the character development. She's read all the books, and I haven't read any, so I'm hoping she can shed some light or something. Regardless of my "yeah, but..." feelings about certain things, I'll say it again, I thought the movie was fun. I checked out Rottentomatoes.com and New Moon's currently at a harsh 29%. Ouch!

So, I had a high-school reunion last Friday night at Jersey's, the local Cleveland Browns bar on Aviation, in Redondo Beach.

I showed this picture of our reunion crew to sister Wendy and she said "how did those teens get in that bar?" Oh, soooo exactly.

Then I decided to join a pool-team. My teammate was NOT stoked on being my partner after he saw my lack of pool playing skills. I could tell he was trying to not be annoyed with me, but it was clear he was frustrated. Bumming people out is amusing to me. Of course, I don't try to be unfun to be around, but when it happens, I think it's pretty funny.

Bonnie got a lot of men looking to help her:

Jenessa and I were bestest, like BESTEST friends EVER, in high school, but after that, we slowly drifted. It's no one's fault. It's life. But during this little reunion, we got back to our same selves like no time had passed. I brought Jen back to my place and Wendy told me the following morning that we woke her up because we were laughing so hard. Laughing too hard is a good problem to have.

I think I'm gonna move close by to Jenessa, very soon. Very soon, as in within the next six months. Mark these words! It was magical and fun:

The above was a self-portrait. You know. One of those, "reach your arm out and snap a self-portrait" kind of pics. Additionally, Jenessa was fending off men at Jersey's that night, and one of her admirers offered to take a picture of us, so here it is:

a top fave from Taiwan: the rest stop

lady-corner.jpg

Yes, that's Wendy and Kylie. However, I hope you take note that they're standing in front of the "Lady Corner," which is basically filled with diet drinks. I love how Taiwan is so progressive.

Nia and Jason's wedding

I'm happy to say I made a miraculous recovery from my flu last week, just in time to make it eight minutes late to Nia and Jason's wedding on Saturday. I walked into the very quiet and echoey church, with my clippity-clop heels, right after the procession. Yes, I was embarrassed. Brett was part of the wedding party and didn't notice my tardy entrance, so I don't feel like a total jerk.

The reception was a lot of fun:

Nia-Jason-Chinese-garbI stole this from Heather's Facebook pics. Nia and Jason in custom-made, traditional Chinese garb. I love it.

Sheeny and Phe are smart to take their photo booth pics before they get too sloppy. I like their strategy. So there was a photo booth there, which was really fun. The machine prints out two copies. One copy for you to take home, and another copy for you to create a little scrapbook page for Nia and Jason. So here's...

I love these two! Not only are they totally talented, but they're super friendly because over the years, although I see them infrequently, every time I run into them, they remember me and are so amicable.

candy-bar.JPGCandy bar. Exactly what it sounds like. An open bar of candy. There were even little draw string bags so you could take the candy home.

photo-booth-girlsWe weren't totally stoked on this, so we decided to try again.

photo-booth-girls2-2Okay, we tired out really quick. First photo-booth attempt was better.

Heather-candy-bar.JPGHeather and I filled up at the candy bar before we headed home. I ate all my candy by the time I reached my car.
